About
Living simply, honoring tradition, and embracing an intentional life through food, wellness, & handmade ways.
Hi, I’m Kacie.

I’m a wife, homeschooling momma of four (from toddler to adult), a farm-raised Tennessee girl, and a nurse (and holistic esthetician)-turned-homemaker with a love for simple, natural, old-fashioned living. I grew up on a family farm in Tennessee, barefoot in the dirt, feeding bottle-fed baby goats, gathering eggs, and learning the rhythms of the land. My pa taught me everything from reading the skies before a storm to caring for animals with patience and grit. Which came in handy because life threw some pretty hard lessons my way.
One of my sons was diagnosed with autism and that diagnosis made me question everything. Was it something we ate? Something I used? Something in our home? Something I didn’t even know to look for? That’s when I realized the modern way of living, rushed, cluttered, and disconnected from the basics, wasn’t working for our family. So I started turning back to what felt right in my bones… simple food, clean ingredients, and a home that didn’t leave me constantly wondering what we were putting in or on our bodies.
I began simplifying everything… cooking from scratch like my granny did, making my own tallow balms, ditching toxic products, and leaning on rhythms that honor the seasons and the land. The slower I moved, the more life began to feel whole.
That’s how Her Country Roots was born. And not just as a blog, but as a rebellion against the noise, a call to return to what’s real, practical, and beautiful in ordinary living. Now, my days are spent homeschooling my boys, tending our home, and showing other women how to live well with less. Tallow in the pantry. Sourdough on the counter. Faith at the center of it all.
If you’re tired of the constant hustle, the endless to-do lists, the overstimulated kids, and the feeling that you’re always behind, you’re not alone. I’ve been there too. There is a slower, simpler way to live and you can start right where you are. Welcome home.
